Astral provides flexible visualization capabilities designed to support both exploratory analysis and operational monitoring. These capabilities allow users to interact with ingested and correlated data in a visual and intuitive way, supporting investigation, threat hunting, and continuous situational awareness.

Astral offers two primary views for visualization and analysis: Search and Dashboards. Each view serves a distinct purpose and addresses different stages of the analytical workflow, while operating on the same underlying data set.

The Search view is designed for exploratory analysis and investigation. It allows users to perform simple and direct searches across ingested data, enabling them to study events from multiple sources collectively. This view is particularly useful for understanding raw event behavior, validating hypotheses, and analyzing data across different origins without predefined visual structures. Search provides flexibility and speed for analysts who need to interact directly with the data.

The Dashboards view is designed for structured visualization and continuous monitoring. In this view, users can create fully customized dashboards using a set of predefined visualization components. Dashboards allow users to aggregate, correlate, and present data in a visual format that reflects operational priorities, threat scenarios, or business context. This enables consistent monitoring and high-level visibility without requiring repeated manual queries.

Astral dashboards support multiple visualization components, allowing users to compose dashboards according to their analytical needs. Supported components include tabular views for detailed data inspection, single numeric indicators for key metrics, and geographical maps for location-based analysis. In addition, Astral provides multiple chart types such as column charts, line charts, donut charts, pie charts, and gauge-style visualizations, enabling representation of trends, distributions, proportions, and threshold-based indicators.

By combining Search and Dashboards, Astral offers a complete visualization experience that balances flexibility and structure. Users can freely explore data to gain insight and then translate those insights into persistent dashboards that support ongoing monitoring and decision-making.
